Since October 2019, I have worked as an undergraduate supervisor at the University of Cambridge. In this role, I have delivered over 500 hours of undergraduate teaching to students undertaking papers in Philosophy and History & Philosophy of Science (HPS). I have extensive experience delivering high-quality teaching in both one-to-one and small-group capacities. I also have experience supervising undergraduate dissertations in Philosophy.

Alongside this I have worked as a Scholar's Programme Tutor for the Brilliant Club on a part-time basis, delivering educational outreach programmes in primary and secondary schools across London and the Southeast. In the Summer of 2024, I worked as a Philosophy Tutor with Immerse Education, as a Study Leader with Oxford Summer Courses, and as a research supervisor for Pembroke College (Cambridge). In the Autumn of 2023, I designed and delivered a ''bridging programme'' lecture series for King's College (Cambridge) for incoming Philosophy undergraduates from state-school backgrounds.

Biography

I began my undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge in October 2015. Though I initially intended to focus my studies in Physics, I ended up taking an alternative path and completed my final-year exams in History & Philosophy of Science (HPS) in June 2018. I then remained at Cambridge to complete both an MPhil and a PhD in HPS. I have just completed my PhD on the political thought of Paul Feyerabend.

Alongside my doctoral studies, I have worked as an undergraduate supervisor, delivering academic teaching in Philosophy and HPS. I have taught students from a range of academic backgrounds, as well as visiting students from overseas. I have also taken up several fixed-term and freelance educational roles, both inside and outside of university education.

Approach to Tutoring

I am an experienced academic educator who has worked with students of all ages in a variety of contexts. My approach to tutoring emphasises personalised learning and fostering critical thinking. I believe that every student has unique strengths and learning styles, so I try to tailor my methods to meet individual needs. I aim to create an engaging and supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring complex concepts and asking questions. By encouraging open dialogue and critical analysis, I help students build confidence in their abilities and develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter. My goal is not only to help students achieve their academic objectives but also to inspire a lifelong love of learning, which I believe makes for better educational outcomes and a more enjoyable learning experience.

When not tutoring

I have just completed my PhD in History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge, and I am currently writing up several articles based on my research. When I’m not teaching or writing, I enjoy immersing myself in films, going for walks to explore new places, and reading a variety of genres. These activities not only provide me with relaxation and inspiration but also enrich my teaching by broadening my perspectives.
